Crystal Palace 2 - 0 Everton 

Cristiano Ronaldo’s double led Crystal Palace to a comfortable 2-0 win over Everton. Ronaldo’s goals at the 73rd and 89th minute secured three points for Palace, leaving Everton's David Inglis contemplating what might have been.


SL Benfica 1 - 2 Atlético Madrid

Atlético Madrid overcame SL Benfica with a 2-1 victory, courtesy of João Félix's brace. Despite Roberto Firmino’s effort for Benfica, Félix's goals at the 49th and 66th minutes ensured the win for Atlético Madrid.


PSV 0 - 3 Bayer Leverkusen

Granit Xhaka and Edin Džeko propelled Bayer Leverkusen to a commanding 3-0 win over PSV. Xhaka's opener and Džeko's two late goals reflected Leverkusen's dominance in the match, led by Sir Simone.


Atalanta BC 0 - 2 Feyenoord

Goals from Mike Tresor and Sebastián Giménez secured a 2-0 win for Feyenoord against Atalanta BC. The decisive strikes in the 63rd and 88th minutes sealed the deal for Feyenoord in a tight clash.


Brentford 1 - 0 West Ham United 

Rafael Santos Borré’s goal was the difference as Ash L Brentford edged out West Ham United in a narrow 1-0 victory, handing Padraig Corcoran’s side a defeat.


Real Sociedad 1 - 0 AS Monaco

Antonio Candreva scored early to give Real Sociedad a 1-0 win over AS Monaco. The 16th-minute goal was enough to secure three points and leave Monaco empty-handed.


AS Roma 2 - 0 Brighton and Hove Albion

AS Roma cruised to a 2-0 victory against Brighton, with goals from Davide Frattesi and Chris Smalling. Roma’s strong performance handed Brighton a loss, with goals at the 7th and 85th minutes.


Juventus 2 - 1 RB Leipzig

Juventus triumphed 2-1 over RB Leipzig in a gripping encounter. Antony and Federico Chiesa's goals for Juventus sandwiched Lukas Klostermann’s effort for Leipzig, securing the win for Juventus.


Argo Division 2 Standings Update:

Crystal Palace holds the top spot with their latest win, showcasing consistent performance and a strong lead.

Juventus remains in second, with a crucial victory over RB Leipzig keeping them in close pursuit of the leader.

Atlético Madrid's victory keeps them tied on points with Juventus, staying in the fight for the top positions.

The tables and charts below are some stats I have put together from capturing each match and associated stats from the first seven (7) weeks of Division matches.  Plan to drop some more stats for Division 2 and for Division 1 over the next day or two.  Division 2 Matchday 8 brought forward a slew of captivating matches and unpredictable scores, solidifying the division's allure as a premier hub for thrilling football. Leading the charge, Crystal Palace showcased their dominance by defeating PSV with a brace from the legendary C.Ronaldo, who netted in the 33rd and 73rd minutes.
